When Sean and Alison St. Clair were coming up with the concept for nou·veau, they didn't just want to create dishes people longed to eat—they wanted to create a space people longed to visit. As such, their restaurant features three distinct dining spaces that balance style and comfort. Read on to learn more about each one, and which dishes they might inspire you to order.
The main dining room: This large, homey space is flanked by handsome half-circle booths on one side and a stone fireplace on the other. As the logs crackle and burn, look to soul-warming comfort foods such as lamb with polenta or pork chops with cavatelli.
The outdoor patio: Lush greens and twinkle lights add charm to this space, open during the mild days of spring, summer, and fall. It's the perfect spot for lighter flavors—sweet tomato and citrus sauce of the shrimp cocktail, orange vinaigrette of the spring salad. There's a full bar outside as well, where people can settle in to watch a game on the flatscreen TV and nosh on cheese plates or lobster nachos.
The kitchen counter: nou·veau's version of a chef's table gives people full view of Sean's kitchen, where he and his team plate gorgeous dishes including salmon dressed with cous cous, red cabbage, and hazelnut.
