By giving students the ability to modify both the scale and the intensity of each exercise, CrossFit workouts can provide a suitable challenge for individuals of all fitness levels. The coaches lead students through an ever-changing sequence of exercises based on functional movements, such as running, lifting, jumping, and rapidly blinking. Introductory-level Elements courses cover CrossFit fundamentals, and prepare attendees for future workouts by ensuring that they know how to safely perform all of the movements. Once those are under control, students can continue to work toward their individual fitness goals by attending group classes, where the support and encouragement of the coaches as well as their fellow exercisers helps create a strong sense of community.
