Fun place to take the kids. Great family adventure. Took my 3, 8 and 9 year old and they all loved it.

Loved doing something new in Monterey! It was a bonus that some of the money goes to help foster kids. It didn't say that on the Groupon but I loved learning this! There was a light show at the beginning in the theatre area and that was fun surprise.

We love the creative experience. So fun to be spontaneous and silly with all the props and artwork.

About Selfieville

The Golden State Theatre has been a sight to behold since its 1926 debut, but the venue became even more photo-friendly with the inception of its permanent installation, Selfieville. Visitors of this experiential museum begin their 60-minute tour with a fantastical 3-D light show developed by award-winning projection designer Bart Kresa. Following the luminous spectacle, groups wander through a series of imaginative rooms—themes include Under the Sea, Fantasy Garden, Sweets, Comic Book Heroes, and Glow in the Dark—where lifesize unicorns and larger-than-life banana splits fill the frame of snapshots and, of course, selfies. A quarter of each ticket's profit to this 10,000-square-foot funhouse supports local non-profits that work with California foster children.
