In addition to increased athleticism, the Youth Kung Fu program also develops discipline, focus, respect for others and goal setting skills.
About This Deal
Youth Kung Fu training brings more than just the physical rewards of increased stamina, mental focus, coordination, balance and flexibility. Children in the Youth Kung Fu program also develop discipline, focus, respect for others and goal setting skills. Studies have shown that children who participate in traditional martial arts often show significant improvement in concentration and self-discipline – both in school and at home.
Youth Kung Fu places an emphasis on personal achievement that builds confidence: every student can succeed on their own merits. Unlike team sports, no one sits on the bench in Kung Fu class. Children learn techniques at their own pace. Sash requirements offer a clear path forward at each step of the training process.
While fighting techniques are part of martial arts, the emphasis is not on teaching children how to fight, but rather teaching them how to respond appropriately when confronted with negative influences such as bullying and peer pressure. Students leave classes with practical confidence-boosting skills.
Youth Kung Fu meets Monday and Tuesday from 5:00 - 5:50 pm and Saturdays from 11:30 am to 12:20 pm.
Good for ages 5 - 12
