Spanish Hills Country Club
It's easy to see why they call the expansive estate at Camarillo the Spanish Hills Country Club. Its architecture evokes Spanish Colonial style with white stucco walls, terracotta roofs, and dramatic arches. The gentle hills may as well be rolling in in the shadow of the Pyrenees, and the lush, colorful flowers and towering palm trees would fit in an Iberian horticulturist's garden. With all of this beauty, it's no surprise that Spanish Hills is a favorite destination for weddings, anniversaries, and corporate luncheons.
But high times in an old-school Spanish villa aren't all the club has to offer. A private championship golf course flourishes in its wedge of land among the Topa Topa mountains, ocean, and countryside. The 18 hole-course, designed by renowned architect Robert E. Cupp, challenges golfers of all skill levels with a 71-par layout across 6,702 yards of elevation changes and large bentgrass greens. Strategically placed bunkers await players or those who would like to pause for a quick sun-bathing session. If a game doesn't go exactly as planned, players can always hit the two-tiered driving range, chipping green, and bunker area for practice, or simply console themselves with a meal at the clubhouse.
