During the 10th-annual Suds & Snow event, revelers sip beer, wine, and cider, nosh on food-truck eats, and dance to the music blasting from two stages. Suds & Snow takes place Saturday, March 5, in the back woods of Timber Ridge Resort from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. A quick half-mile hike takes participants to the party.

Suds & Snow

There's not much you can do about Traverse City's arctic winter weather, except try to bear it. That is, unless you attend the Suds & Snow event. The annual party in the woods makes winter fun by bringing together Michigan's natural beauty, libations, and musicians.

The Setting

With more than 30 miles of stunning trails winding through its woods, Timber Ridge Resort is the ideal spot for Suds & Snow. To get to the event's location, attendees hike or try to bribe a deer to carry them half a mile through these woods.

The Sips

As its name implies, there are plenty of drinks to go around at Suds & Snow. Several Michigan wineries and cider-makers, plus more than 20 Michigan breweries, fill glasses with their craft beverages. To complement the libations, local food trucks are on hand serving everything from tacos and burritos to brats and burgers.

The Soundtrack

While guests enjoy local food and drink, they can also listen to local musicians. The spacious resort provides Suds & Snow with enough room for two music stages, which means DJ sets and a wide range of live musical performances throughout the afternoon.
