Even though water covers most of the earth's surface, humans spend most of their lives on land and a small portion in the air while they're sleeping. Float on with this Groupon.
$8 for a 90-Minute Narrated Harbor Cruise (Up to $19 Value)
The 90-minute Newport Beach Harbor Cruise visits some of the area's most famous residents, human and animal. One mile offshore stands favorite sea-lion and Garibaldi-fish hangout the Bell Buoy, where the creatures' natural cuteness is set off by views of the coastline, Catalina Island, and the massive rock jetty. Then, the boat returns to the dock for a brief intermission before cruising toward grand homes once inhabited by John Wayne, Roy Rogers, and, more recently, Nicholas Cage, as the guide shares stories.
Cruises depart daily from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the hour, with additional evening departures from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. during the summer. Children aged 5–11 are regularly admitted for $7, and children aged 4 and younger are admitted for free.
Fun Zone Boat Company
In 1948, Fun Zone Boat Company’s predecessors began to whisk passengers on speedboat rides and lend out boats and paddleboards to visitors and locals in Newport Beach. Today, the business’s fleet of red, white, and blue vessels chugs up and down California’s coastline on guided tours and charter trips. Plush benches and open-air decks afford unobstructed views of sea lions lounging on Bell Buoy and Catalina Island in the distance. The boats’ captains also serve as guides, and pepper tours with anecdotes about celebrities’ mansions and diamond-studded sand castles. Charter trips double as an entertaining setting for catered corporate functions and birthday parties for 49–149 guests.
