Before performing blepharoplasty—Italian for "eyelid lift"—Dr. Landy consults with patients to discuss the treatment, explain after-care procedures, and answer questions. A light application of local anesthetic prepares the eyelid for a tiny incision in its natural crease, which gives the doctor access to excess skin while allowing for minimal scarring after healing sets in. The 30-minute outpatient session leaves patients with reduced over-eye skin folds, and makes it possible for eyes to display their colors as prominently as flags on strike or a peacock in the stocks.
