The Lotus Classic American Bar & Grill
The Lotus Classic American Bar & Grill evokes the most aesthetically pleasing aspects of a prohibition era diner, right down to its exposed light bulb fixtures and private card room in the back. The eatery's chefs, however, happily bring the menu into the modern era. They prepare seared Atlantic sea scallops with a side of braised Tuscan kale and Meyer lemon buerre blanc. Their rosemary-marinated steaks arrive speckled with garlic and herbs, and topped with a dollop of horseradish cream.
At the main dining room's full bar and the card room's slightly smaller counter, bartenders put equal effort into their craft cocktails, infusing fine liquors with sweet and sour twists. The Anejo Highball, for instance, packs a flavorful punch with a mixture of Cruzan aged rum, Reed's ginger beer, orange bitters, and a bit of orange curaçao. The drink comes with a lime wedge as a garnish or an emergency mouth-puckerer if you ever forget how to kiss.
