Chef Ashley Popat follows the philosophy that the essence of good Indian food isn't the cooking technique but rather the mixture of spices that forms its flavor. Together with her brother, Rakesh, Ashley crafts the authentic dishes served inside Masala Spices of India’s lavish dining room, replete with chandeliers, marble pillars, and an indoor waterfall. Meals can begin with appetizers of samosas or bombay baba ghanouj before moving on to chicken- or lamb-filled biryanis and the chef's specialties, such as chicken korma or tikka masala. Ashley also puts together three tasting menus that give guests a complete tour of Indian culinary traditions, starting with a palate-cleansing shot of rose water or mango lassi and continuing on to courses of curried hummus, seekh kebabs, and delicately spiced maps.

Bombay Exotic Cuisine of India is helmed by brother-and-sister team Rakesh and Ashley Popat, delivering an opulent, glowing atmosphere and authentic cuisine that dazzle diners. Glistening chandeliers illuminate the 7,500-square-foot space, which provides an avenue for parties of up to 300 guests, and has hosted a number of corporate clients including Wells Fargo and Johnson & Johnson. Inside the dining room, a tranquil waterfall serves as an ethereal room divider and squirt-gun refilling station, as romantic amber light softly rains down from the ceiling to settle upon crisp white tablecloths.

We slid in toward the end of the lunch hour and experienced friendly service and more than usually delicious food. We ordered a Bindi drop, mutter paneer and samosas, and the samosas were even better than usual. We have always loved the waterfall at the front of the dining area and try to sit near there whenever possible.
