About Verde's Mexican Parrilla
Verde's Mexican Parrilla distinguishes itself from traditional Mexican restaurants by incorporating unexpected ingredients into its upscale, from-scratch dishes. Chefs drizzle an orange-ancho sauce over duck-filled flautas and wrap tender morsels of quail in bacon before topping them with tequila-lime butter. They flavor the pollo azul with roasted-garlic gorgonzola sauce and age Angus filet mignons for 28 days, or the amount of time it takes the moon to fully emerge from its black-velvet bag. Fresh seafood arrives daily, destined for the wood-burning grill or entrees such as shrimp mojo with jalapeno garlic oil.
Though owners Joel and Aubrey Munguia have created a sophisticated menu and an elegant, fireplace-warmed interior, they also designed the restaurant with a family-friendly covered patio. The amphitheater-like space, which is supported by rustic wooden beams and plenty of plush chairs and sofas, opens up to a grass field. Kids can toss around footballs, frisbees, or ideas about starting an online lemonade stand while adults sip housemade sangria and Mexican martinis nearby.
