Summer camps are the best way to give kids a taste of freedom without having them lick the Liberty Bell. Ring in summertime with this Groupon.
Choose from Three Options
- $199 for the junior glassblowing summer camp for one ($399 value)
- $175 for the junior glass-fusing summer camp for one ($349 value)
- $149 for the junior survivor-skill summer camp for one ($299 value)
After a glass-blowing artist demonstrates how pieces are made and covers the history and basics of the trade, students take up the torch to create their own set of drink stirrers or several glass beads. In glass-fusing camp kids can learn the art of melding glass fragments to forge colorful pendants and dishes. During the survival-skills camp, kids spend their time outdoors learning wilderness basics such as how to build a fire or how to use a map and compass to navigate to the nearest burger tree.
Camp sessions last four hours and run for three consecutive days. See the website for available camp sessions.
Wildcraft Academy is a creative hub where skilled flame workers craft functional pieces and artwork such as jewelry and bird feeders for clients. They also lead workshops that acquaint aspiring artists with their unique set of skills. After learning to create a set of drink stirrers during the Intro to Glassblowing class, students are free to take more advanced workshops that teach them to make beads, marbles, vases, and other iridescent artwork for wearing, displaying at home, or gifting to a particularly beautiful sunbeam.
