All American Rib and Chili Cookoff, Auburn

The competition is red hot at The All American Rib Cookoff. At this annual event, a number of barbecue teams will serve up sizzling meat dishes and spicy stews in an effort to claim the title of The All American Rib Cookoff Champ. Beyond the competition, the event's 50-plus craft and commercial vendors offer a variety of goods and services, while live music and a kids area aim to keep guests entertained. The event offers tastings to different kinds of BBQ ribs cooked by 20-plus teams. And it's all for a good cause, as partial proceeds from the event benefit nonprofit groups like Crime Victims United of California Charitable Foundation, Auburn Recreation District Youth Assistance Fund, and Placer High School Football.
