Lotus Pilates, Bloomington

Corinna Cosentino first discovered Pilates as a young dancer, seeking a way to simultaneously build her strength and flexibility. She fell in love with the distinctive exercise regimen and in 1998 decided to earn her Pilates certification. She then continued her studies in Chicago under the guidance of teachers who studied directly under Joseph and Clara Pilates, honing her core-building techniques and mastering Joseph's secret handshakes.

After several years spent teaching in Chicago, Cosentino opened her own studio, which boasts unobstructed space and pale hardwood floors speckled with Pilates reformers, towers, and chairs. She also provides supportive props for students to use during mat-based classes.
