The word "speleotherapy" may sound complex, but it's a simple, low-tech treatment. By simply inhaling tiny particles of sodium chloride, clients may alleviate any breathing problems and inflammation, and potentially boost their immune systems. At Chuck's Salt Cave Room, visitors nestle in to a cozy chair, surrounded by 24 tons of natural Ukrainian rock salt, that's also peppered with Himalayan salt crystals and minerals. During 45-minute sessions, the salty air infuses into the body, clearing away mucus in the airways, disinfecting, and converting positive ions to negative. The above-ground chamber is not only a refuge away from daily stresses, but an allergy-free oasis, giving lungs and sinuses a rest from dust, pollution, and pollen season.
