Rattlesnake Festival, Dade City

Celebrating all things reptilian, San Antonio's annual Rattlesnake Festival welcomes family and friends to partake in food, music, and fun involving rattlesnakes and the likes. Headlining the festival, rattlesnakes will be present at the festival's snake and reptile shows, showcasing the wonders of creatures that both crawl and slither in the presence of a crowd of viewers.

But snakes aren't the only reason thing that makes this festival memorable. Families also have the option to sign up for the annual Rattlesnake Run—presented by the Thomas Promise Foundation—as a way to get moving together. Or, if attendees don't feel like running themselves, they can watch on at the Gopher Turtle Races, where they'll wait to see which turtle is the fastest in their rank. What's more, because this is a family event, kids are welcome to stop and see Cowboy Tom—who performs with his trusty horse—participate in festival games, and even get their faces painted vibrant colors to commemorate the day.
