Hundreds of apothecary bottles line the shelves of the dimly lit gothic interior, where rather glamorous, velvet-clad proprietors are happy to show shoppers around the plethora of fragrant herbs, incense and essential oils. Even when not shopping for spells (though they do sell spell kits), it’s fun to poke around for interesting items like jewelry, gargoyles, chalices, candles and crystals. Store alchemists blend their own proprietary mixes of apothecary, including custom orders. Panpipes Magickal Marketplace occasionally hosts classes as well, from beginners’ tarot sessions to candle making. They also throw ritual celebrations for the winter solstice. Many customers here take their magic seriously, and cauldrons, voodoo dolls, tarot runes and ouija are prominently displayed.
