When the four minds behind Floating on Cloud 9 KY were thinking about going into the float business, they had only a vague idea of its benefits. One session later, they were ardent devotees. Today, they continue to tout the benefit of regular float sessions—from the relief of migraines to the improvement of sleep—while providing everything necessary for those who want to experience it for themselves. Here's what to expect:
Weightlessness: Thanks to 200 pounds of water loaded up with 900 pounds of Epsom salt, the body floats effortlessly. The magnesium can provide health benefits and the floating feeling can aid in reducing stress.
Relaxation: The state-of-the-art float pods allow guests to relax in complete darkness without sound and outside stimuli, but those who prefer sound can choose to listen to music or guided meditation through the pod's built-in speakers. Guests can bring their own music or choose from Cloud 9's selections.
Privacy: Each pod is equipped with its own shower, and each session will also include time to bathe before and after. Private dressing rooms are also available to accommodate makeup, blowdrying, and more, as well as a relaxation area with hot tea and infused spa water. It is recommended that floating is done without clothes or bathing suits as laundry chemicals can compromise the pristine water.
Immediate benefits: Float sessions have been touted as providing chronic pain relief (arthritis, MS, fibromyalgia, etc.), improving sleep and relaxation, aiding recovery for athletes, and providing relief from pregnancy symptoms such as back pain.
Lasting benefits: Floating can also help improve blood circulation, enhance training ability, creativity, and acuity.
Water: Floating on Cloud 9 adheres to health and safety regulations to ensure each float pod is clean and sterile. After each session, the pod's built-in system purifies the water. And between each session, the water is purified and disinfected four times with a micron filter, ozone technology, and UV light.
