MOM's Organic Market, Bryn Mawr

Scott Nash's grocery stores are called MOM's for a simple reason: it all started as a delivery service out of his mother's garage. Armed only with fresh organic vegetables, his Chevy Malibu, and a business suit sewn from lettuce leaves, Nash soon attracted the attention of the entire region when an impressed customer called in to rave on NPR.

Today, Nash and his family run 11 environmentally friendly stores with an emphasis on local and organic produce, dry goods, and holistic wellness. And environmentally friendly isn't just an empty term either. As they proudly state on their website, MOM's "walks the talk" when it comes to protecting and restoring the environment. Just a few of their green policies include eliminating plastic waste, building with renewable materials such as bamboo and recycled lumber, and housing free electric-car charging stations at most stores.
