Embraced Wellness believes that the mind and the body are interconnected and that to treat them properly, both have to be affected. This is why they offer mental health counseling, hypnotherapy, as well as Reiki, and acupuncture. With a belief that utilizing multiple healing modalities helps get to the root of the problem, the skilled team at Embraced Wellness embraces all techniques to help bring pain relief and stress alleviation to their clients. Pursuing a second career, Laura Scheurer attended Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM), in New York, NY, and graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Professional Studies, Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine. In addition, Laura holds an Associate in Applied Science (Nursing) from The University of the State of New York and has been a registered nurse since 1988. (Laura is currently licensed by the state of Florida to practice acupuncture and nursing). Over the course of her nursing career, Laura has worked in specialty areas including labor and delivery, mental health, case management for AIDS care, geriatrics, and dermatology. Since graduating from PCOM, Laura has traveled to Guatemala twice with the Healer to Healer volunteer group, to treat and teach local indigenous Mayan women healers auricular Acupuncture & Reiki to support their healing practices in services to their community. Laura believes that our bodies have an innate wisdom to heal, and the goal of any healing art is to be guided by and supportive of that principle. Laura made St. Pete her home in 2017 and is happy to be an integral part of this beautifully diverse community.
