My first visit was over 6 months ago and I thought the shop was so cute... Overpriced but cute. Yesterday when I went in with a friend to use the groupons with the friend I bought them for (one for her, one for me) I have to admit I was embarrassed. The sales people were pushy and rude. I walked by the eye shadows and one was all over me to let her show me them. I told her I worked at a spa with a great mineral make up line and wasn't that interested. She didn't seem to care and proceeded to give me a seemlingly scripter speech about the powder to cream to polish to lipgloss thing. At the end I reminded her I wasn't interested because I work with mineral makeup already. Then she started asking about the brand I work iwith, almost aggressively, trying to imply that its not as healthy and safe as her makeup. Any time I would be looking at something if I asked ANY question like "what does this sticker mean"(the sticker to indicate testers) it would turn in to a full blown sales pitch, and at the end I would have to re-ask my question again! ("sorry I just aksked how much it is.... How much is it?). They almost made it seem like if you don't buy this, you're NOT taking care of your skin. Then eventually I let them know I had a groupon and things totally changed. They backed off COMPLETELY, didn't want to take the groupon treating me like I was cheap. Then when I finally got them to take the groupon, the girl took my phone with out asking and started marking them all as used (I was using two but had a third for next time) she was about to mark the third as used but I stopped her in time and she hesitantly gave me my phone back. Pretty ballsie, its MY phone. All in all, super disappointed and unimpressed. Let's be honest, its salt, scent and oil... It shouldn't cost $30 and if it does the service should be impeccable. Informative but not pushy.

Very nice product, no question, however a bit pricey. i bought product as a gift, but would not go back to purchase again or for myself just because the price is more extravagant than I can afford for personal use. Nice product though.

Products seem to have little scent, are overpriced and beyond what normal people can afford...seeing as this is a high end customer service oriented store, it seems off-putting that I was in the store ten minutes being ignored while your employees gossiped, before I had to ask for assistance.

I love your body butters and soaps, especially the mild smelling ones as I have allergies.

From Our Editors

Lavan's nature alchemists collect herbs and fruit, vegetable, and flower extracts sourced from the Israeli countryside to blend into their all-natural bath and body products, which have been lauded in SweetLife and Fashion Magazine's blog for producing “silky results in an instant.” Mixed according to ancient recipes, the balms and soaps are hand-packed into recyclable glass containers before staffers arrange them on the shelves of Lavan's luxe downtown store. In the center of the space, a large, round sink sprouting multiple faucets whispers for customers to sample soaps and salt scrubs. Knowledgeable staffers serenely explain the benefits of the exotic ingredients, or direct men and women to salves specifically designed for their skin needs. All of products are hypo-allergenic, paraben-free, and never tested on animals, making them gentle enough to use on babies who take strong ethical stances on the treatment of animals.
