58 on Main
58 on Main feeds visitors' minds and their stomachs. The quaint gallery is not only home to a rotating collection of locally created oil paintings, watercolors, and photography, but also houses a cafe and workshop center. Here, the friendly instructors help students unlock their creative potential in art classes including still-life painting and photography, or encourage them to hone new skills such as playing chess and cooking. To further nurture artistic endeavors, they offer a photography resource center in which artists can create at digital workstations equipped with computers, scanners, and printers, and a green-screen room where they can work on inserting themselves into all of Barack Obama's selfies. The staffers will even print images from slides, negatives, and digital images.
To fuel all this ingenuity, baristas stand at the ready serving coffee, espresso, and tea to complement lunches and pastries. And the bistro offers social events, too, including open-mic nights and wine and dessert tastings.
