The kitchen is statistically the most dangerous room in a home because it contains the highest concentration of knives, open flames, and pots full of semi-living lobsters. Learn to navigate this danger zone with today’s Groupon to Apropos Culinary Arts Center. Choose from the following options:

  • For $32, you get a foundations cooking class or a Cooking Light class for one (up to a $65 value).
  • For $70, you get a date-night cooking class for two (a $140 value).

Check the website for a schedule of upcoming classes; more classes will be added soon.

Apropos Culinary Arts Center helps students achieve culinary excellence via classes emphasizing uncomplicated preparation techniques using quality local ingredients. Individuals can bone up on kitchen skills with one of six foundations classes, covering kitchen cornerstones such as sauces, cupcakes, and knife skills. Held throughout the winter, each three-hour class equips students to re-create dishes in their own kitchens, encourages experimentation with recipes and flavors, and is also BYOB. Students can dive into an introductory chicken course or jump into a Meat 101 class to learn innovative methods for teaching long division to a prime rib.

Couples can spark fireworks of flavor with a date-night cooking class, specializing in either comfort fare on January 7, sushi on January 13, or pizza on January 21. In the comfort-food-centered Baby it’s Cold Outside class, also BYOB, couples craft a slew of belly-warming dishes including spinach and artichoke dip, pork chops with cherry compote, and bourbon apple bread pudding. Sushi courses prep pairs to cook rice and bundle rolls with choice ingredients, while the pizza course teaches date-night patrons to toss dough and create savory pies such as prosciutto and artichoke pizza and a meat trio with beer-battered crust.

Customer Reviews

The chef/teacher was amazing. She was very friendly, helpful and fun. One of the better date nights my spouse and I have had! Something totally new, great fun, and great learning experience all at the same time. We are definitely going to sign up for the pasta, and pizza date nights too!!

A lot of fun. Non-groupon price is a bit high.
