What You'll Get
Babies absorb incredible amounts of information in their first months, but their limited control of motor skills only allows them to expound their knowledge to baby-talking aunts. Refine your child’s mind with today’s Groupon to Baby Sensory. Classes are held on Tuesdays at 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. and on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Best Western in Humble. Parents should call ahead to reserve a place in class. Choose between two options:
- For $11, you get one baby-development class (a $22 value).
- For $39, you get a four-week baby-development course (an $88 value).<p>
During Baby Sensory’s engaging and creative class sessions, babies from birth to 13 months old take part in activities that foster physical, social, emotional, and language development. Since its creation in 2004 by Dr. Lin Day, the organization has grown into an international curator of creativity, reaching hundreds of parents and new persons throughout the world. An enthusiastic class leader helps about 20 parents, children, and invisible friends interact with each other in stimulating and educational activities.
Classes often begin with a sign-language activity designed to instill young ones with a strong foundation for communicating. Popular children’s songs and nursery rhymes accompany each activity, providing a melody for babies to follow as they enjoy movement-based strength and coordination exercises as well as color-, texture-, and sound-oriented sensory-development activities. In addition to reinforcing child and parental bonds, interacting with other babies encourages socio-emotional growth and delays the onset of rebellious actions such as sprouting mohawks and taking the family stroller out past curfew.
