Accomplished instructors Jessica Berry, Dallas Berry, and Grandmaster KS Lee employ extensive knowledge of tae kwon do to discipline muscles in both kickboxing and yoga classes. Kickboxing fuses martial-arts tactics with boxing moves to help pupils tone up and hone self-defense skills. Instructors lead students through strength and resistance training as well as classic roundhouse kicks and uppercuts usually reserved for haggling at the farmer’s market.
After burning off calories, students can burn off inflexibility in core-strengthening yoga sessions that employ Vinyasa modalities to wind down physical and mental tension more effectively than respites in pools of warm pudding. Classes occur Monday–Friday at 5:45 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. in the Cary studio and Monday–Thursday at 10:45 a.m. at the Holly Springs studio, with more classes being added soon. All classes run about 45 minutes.
Cary Yoga and Kickboxing
Cary Yoga and Kickboxing challenges both body and mind. During high-intensity kickboxing sessions, groups of students jab, hook, and roundhouse kick their way to a healthier existence. A combination of martial arts, boxing, and other fighting forms, kickboxing classes aim to build strength and increase self-awareness, as well. Meanwhile, the facility divides its yoga offerings into two different programs: power Vinyasa and sweat and detox. The latter program revolves around poses that improve the body’s circulatory and lymphatic systems, helping to expel toxins.
