It is obvious the instructor is passionate about sharing his love of glass blowing with others. He has a very good manner with the class. I thought this was a fun weekend activity. If the heat really bothers you then do this class when it is cold outside as the furnaces really heat up the studio.

I bought this as something for my Mom and I to do together. She is 72 and loves to enjoy life! This was definitely fun and Jose was laid back and a lot of fun to work with and talk to while doing our glass blowing. My Mom had such a great time with Jose, he was truly a gem! I would recommend this groupon for any age. It is definitely a fun time and learning experience. We were very pleased :)

There is free parking outside the studio. It was very fun and very hot as the ovens which are used are heated to 2000 degrees. This is something my granddaughter and I did together. We both thorough ally enjoyed the experience, although it might be more fun in the winter. But either way, it was a blast. Staff was very patient and helpful.

What You'll Get

Undecorated Christmas trees tend to act out in jealousy, stealing stockings off the mantle and pulling their skirts up in front of company. Festoon trees with modest flashes with today’s Groupon: for $60, you get admission to a blown-glass ornament workshop at Franklin Glassblowing Studio in Franklin (a $125 value).

Franklin Glassblowing Studio’s founding glass master Jose Santisteban leads pupils through a spectrum of glassblowing methodologies during blustery class sessions. Create a keepsake bauble for a Christmas tree or Valentine cactus during the glass ornament workshop, which combines art-form basics from the studio’s Introduction to Glassblowing class with specific ornament-crafting techniques. Careful instruction and finalizing help ensure each delicate ornament’s success, and all materials except specialty colors and extra sets of lungs are included with the course.

About Franklin Glassblowing Studio

Jose Santisteban’s artistic path has been paved with glass. He began working with it as an artistic medium in 1999 and, after earning his master of fine arts in glass sculpture in New York, chased his passion to locales around the country and globe.

Today, Jose shares his love of this ancient art at Franklin Glassblowing Studio. During lessons that focus on the basic skills of glass blowing, he demonstrates how the material can be used for more than just windows and temporary houses. Students then put theory into practice, flexing their creative muscles to create personalized keepsakes from scratch. When not hosting classes, Jose and others at the studio design their own glassy pieces, including lighting and home decor.
