What You’ll Do
Screenprinted artwork has long been a staple of the underground arts community, providing DIYers an accessible way to create custom gig posters, T-shirts, and works of art. During this intimate two-hour workshop, Twin Peaks Press co-founder Ashlee Mays teaches you to the process of hand pulling cards and posters using your own design. Alternatively, you can use images and designs provided by Twin Peaks Press.
Bring Your Own Design
Show up with your own drawing or a one-color Photoshop or Illustrator file to screenprint onto cards, posters, or fine-art prints. Each guest leaves with 10 copies of their finished design.
Print on Paper or Fabric
The class is geared toward printing on cards or posters, but you can also bring fabric items such as T-shirts, tote bags, and bandanas for printing—just make sure to notify the host in advance.
Feel free to bring along your favorite beverages and snacks.
Co-Founder, Twin Peaks Press
Ashlee Mays started Twin Peaks Press with co-founder Sara Riley Douglas after they studied printmaking at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. The duo specializes in everything from fine-art prints and publishing to gig-poster printing and design, including a design that the Chicago Reader named Gig Poster of the Week in May 2014. The creative pair has worked with venues, cafés, art galleries, and an array of local bands.
