What You'll Do
Forget Miller and Bud. Though these mass-produced brands have dominated the beer world, homebrewing has recently charted a revival, hearkening back to the days when beer production was the province of seventh-century monks. In this workshop, you'll go back to the roots of refreshment and learn to handcraft beers, whipping up your own batch under the guidance of acclaimed homebrewer Jason Sahler. Jason will impart tips about starting your own homebrewing operation, identifying different types of beer, and properly pairing beer with food.
Make a Batch of Beer

Beer Tasting with Paired Snacks
Sample your freshly made beer as well as a few different stouts as you nibble cheeses, meats, and spreads and learn how to properly pair food and beer
Jason Sahler discovered just how delicious beer could be while on a trip to Scotland nearly 20 years ago, when he got his first taste of truly excellent craft beer. From that day forward, Jason has devoted himself to seeking out the very best in the world of beer. Fueled by his passion, Jason purchased an all-grain homebrew kit and began creating delicious ales right out of his cozy Brooklyn apartment. His beers have since won numerous awards, and he's currently in the process of opening up a brick-and-mortar establishment called Strong Rope Brewery.
