A Guide to Gameday at Rice-Eccles Stadium
- Get there 2 1/2 hours early: for the Ute Walk, in which fans line the route down 500 South to Rice-Eccles Stadium to show team support as the marching band leads the way and the spirit team tosses t-shirts to the crowd
- Dazzle your friends with stadium facts and figures. Here’s a good start. Constructed in 1927 at Ute Stadium. Practically completely demolished in 1997 and resurrected in 1998 with a new capacity of 45,807 and a 6-story press box. Served as the venue for the opening of the 2002 Winter Olympics
- Where to park: for paid general parking, head to the Crimson 4 lot. It opens 3 hours before kickoff, and it’s the best bet for visitors, since all other lots are reserved for season ticket holders. If you’re not driving, TRAX stations throughout Salt Lake City will take you directly to the stadium parking lot
