Archibald Frew got the last laugh. When he built the home now known as Rosedale, the neighbors called it "Frew's Folly." The reasons were unclear—some people suspect it was the chrome yellow trim, others think that his neighbors were just comic geniuses—but whatever the reasons, they were wrong. The historic plantation and southern garden still stands, the last piece of the 919-acre plantation on which it once stood. Now it serves as a beautiful example of Federal period architecture, offers eye-opening glimpses at history through its tours, and hosts weddings and other events.
