About Island Dog Brewing
In 2013, couple Jim and Jody visited their first craft brewery. After their first tour, they began exploring local breweries and started fantasizing about what it would be like to be able to experiment with different beers and share their passion and creations with others. Jim knew his home-brewed beer could stand up to the beers he was tasting at the breweries and, with the support of family and friends, decided to make his dream a reality and jump right into the craft beer industry with Island Dog Brewing.
Today, Jim and Jody, along with fellow beer-enthusiast friends Melanie and Tim, run a 5-barrel brewing system with eight different beers on tap and a lineup that changes monthly. The team incorporates new recipes, seasonal beers, variations of standard beers, and experimental concoctions throughout the rotating tap lineup. Influenced by Belgian and German styles, the brews are made using local ingredients, with several beers that are produced with 100% local malt and hops. A few of the seasonal fan favorites at Island Dog Brewing include:
Unit 15 (6%): A light-colored brew with citrus and pepper spice to taste.
A Beer Called BOO (5.3%): Using pumpkin and Maine maple syrup, this brew offers an enjoyable blend of familiar fall flavors.
Captain Tucker (4.3%): A classic ale brewed with local malt and hops.
