After navigating floating platform staircases, dodging living-room-level bosses, and searching for randomly appearing bathroom keys, most homeowners come to regret purchasing houses built by video-game designers. Today's Groupon offers respite from the chaos: for $99, you get a one-night stay and a $30 gift card to the on-site restaurant (up to a $215 value) at the Joseph Ambler Inn in North Wales.
Located on 12 rolling countryside acres once owned by William Penn, the Joseph Ambler Inn combines the tranquility of a charming bed and breakfast with the luxurious amenities of an elegant resort. This Groupon gets you into one of the Inn's 52 guestrooms, with options ranging from the two-room suites, complete with oversized spa-tubs, to recently remodeled deluxe king rooms, some of which boast a small fireplace and a direct line to the UN Secretary General. You'll also get a $30 gift card at the Inn's stone-walled restaurant, where you and your bunkmates can enjoy a dinner of pan-roasted rack of lamb with a red-wine reduction ($30) or a proper, three-course prix fixe lunch ($25).
After the inevitable pillow fights and prank calls to the concierge desk, guests can freely explore each of the Inn's five historic buildings, including the exquisite eighteenth-century farmhouse, the completely restored Thomas Wilson House, and the early nineteenth-century stone-bank barn where Mrs. O'Leary's cow got arrested for arson.
- As always the food was fantastic! The seasonal specials are great. We will return. – OpenTable reviewer who dined on 10/26/2010
- This was a very nice alternative to a boring chain hotel. I usually prefer the latter, as this guarantees quality, no matter where you are. But the Joseph Ambler Inn was a perfect getaway, although being on a business trip. – kybernetic, TripAdvisor
