About A Chat with Lake Merritt Community Acupuncture
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Our services include acupuncture, herbal medicine, cupping, moxibustion, and tui na massage. More info on these modalities can be found here
One thing that makes us stand out is that we offer in-depth consultations and comprehensive treatments, while still remaining affordable. We also have a full herbal pharmacy including both raw herbs and granules - which is more than most Chinese medicine clinics - and we specialize in individualized herbal treatments for a wide range of conditions.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
We wanted to help people heal from all sorts of ailments, using natural and effective remedies. We believe that Chinese medicine is one of the most sophisticated approaches to accomplish this. After each completing our Masters degrees in Chinese medicine, it was only natural to open up a clinic where we could provide individualized acupuncture and herbal treatments the way we wanted to. The clinic was originally started by Dan Eng and Jesse Blazo, and now it is run by Dan Eng and Phil Settels. Dan, Phil and Jesse all share a similar vision as described above. Our bios can be found here.
What do you love most about your job?
We love the feeling of knowing we are promoting good health in our patients - especially seeing our techniques and medicines yield good results. We also like the process of collaborating with patients to help achieve health goals by working together.
What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?
It's happened a many times that patients have said things like "I've tried everything under the sun, but your treatment was the only thing that ended up helping with my condition." For actual testimonials and other info about us, feel free to refer to our website: lmcaclinic.com.
