Monte Rio Recreation & Park District

Situated along the lower Russian River, the Monte Rio Recreation & Park District offers a variety of venues for the outdoor enthusiast. A renowned cycling mecca, Monte Rio hosts several large events each year. At the Russian River Skate Park, located at Creekside Park, skateboarders, cyclists and visitors alike can enjoy a mid-day snack at the cafe or a walk along the creek side trail. The Monte Rio Beach is open year-round to pedestrians; mid-May through mid-October, boat rental and food concessions open to the public, as well as beach parking. A dog friendly beach is just down-river. Throughout the year, the Community Center's Redwood Ballroom hosts numerous wedding receptions, family reunions and other events. With views of the redwood hills, blue sky and meandering river, it's no wonder Monte Rio is dubbed 'Vacation Wonderland' .
