No. 8 Kitchen & Spirits
You may encounter a familiar face at No. 8 Kitchen & Spirits. It's run by executive chef Nicholas Peters Bond, who appeared on season 14 of the cooking competition Hell's Kitchen and made it all the way through to the top five. After his elimination and a few other restaurant stints, he arrived at No. 8, where he whips up the kind of upscale modern American cuisine that has caught the eye of various press outlets, including Food & Wine and Thrillist.
The forward-thinking, artisanal cuisine focuses on New England–style eats and often features local ingredients. Dishes range from lobster donuts to cocoa-dusted steak tips to grilled swordfish served atop red-beet risotto.
No. 8 resides in a space that once housed a former mill. In fact, the team has worked hard to retain chapters of the building's history while breathing new life into it. So, the original sign sign remains along with exposed industrial elements. A handsome makeover brought in a bar faced with gleaming subway tile and reclaimed tables surrounded by studded teal chairs.
