A Chat with Red Planet Muay Thai
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Red Planet Muay Thai doesn’t do crowded classes. With a six-person cap, everyone gets the attention they need and deserve. We cater to both traditionalists and those looking to find a more interesting way to get into shape. Speed, power, technique, and self-defense are all a part of what we do.
What’s one tip for first-time students that will make them feel like veterans?
Come in humble. Gleason’s gym is the home of white collar fighters and professional world champions in boxing and combat sports. If you have a fire in you that needs to be fed with the coals of sweat and hard work, this is the gym for you. We are no frills here, that’s for sure.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I have been training in martial arts for more than 30 years. I went to Thailand because I knew in my heart the daily grind wasn’t for me and I wanted to be a coach. I trained six hours a day and fought in grungy Thai stadiums, strictly for the purpose of becoming a Muay Thai coach. Now I build champions.
What do you love most about your job?
I love watching my students win. I love seeing them work hard, give everything they got, pull as much knowledge as they can from me, then go in and kick butt. It’s an amazing feeling.
