Awesome experience the boat was not too crowded and such a beautiful ocean to be on, we did not see whales but saw a lot of dolphins which was still very fun.

Less than ideal boat. No outside deck area that goes around boat so you can see from any angle. One bathroom door won't close There is nowhere around the entire boat where you can look from the side with a railing upstairs as all the metal seeds everythis metal is seed everybody is Tripping over each other to see and the whole front of the boat is roped off where you can stand

We went on 12/4 and saw the first Gray whale of the season! The crew was great at giving us information on animals we saw, and encouraging us to keep our eyes out. I brought my own binoculars but didn't really need them, the whale came and check out our boat, but it may be different on other rides.

Always love going out with this crew. You just never know what you'll see. In the last few outings we saw a breaching humpback and ORCAS, the spectacular killer whales which was a very rare sighting. Always so much fun.

About San Diego Whale Watch

San Diego Whale Watch sets sail along the scenic Pacific coastline in search of the area's most beautiful and splash-happy underwater residents. An experienced marine naturalist lends their knowledge and keen eyes to each three-hour tour, pointing out whales and dolphins as they surface alongside the hull of veteran Coast Guard-certified vessel the Privateer. The spacious and clean New England-style boat seats 149 passengers and floats low in the water to allow its passengers up-close views of the amazing marine wildlife from indoor and outdoor decks and seating areas. Daytime tours embark as early as 9:30am to catch the whales as they commute to work.
