Snow tubing originally was invented for just two functions: quick escapes from wandering polar bears and zazzing up presidential entrances to State of the Union addresses. Discover function three and beyond with today's Groupon: for $17, you get two snow-tubing passes at Seacoast Snow Park in Windham (a $34 value). Passes are valid from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. only. Open starting Monday, December 26 for weekends plus school vacation weeks.
At Seacoast Snow Park, tubers 4 feet or taller glissade down lanes mounded with manmade snow. Express lifts eliminate the need to walk up the hill or hitchhike on a yeti's back, depositing participants and their saucers atop the snowy peaks. Inflated winter rafts race down the hill, flying over bumps and slipping over icy spots for an intense descent in the crisp air. At night, lights blanket the hill and music serenades speeders through their downward slide. Though not included in today's deal, tubers can break from the wintry weather to sweeten their tongues with soft-serve ice cream or warm their stomachs with specialty hot drinks in the onsite Goodies Cafe.
Seacoast Adventure gets families outdoors yearlong to breeze down ziplines, pilot go-karts, and putt around the 18-hole mini golf course. They also navigate the obstacles of attractions such as Crazy Apes Adventure Park, a network of elevated rope courses, and soar on the 100-foot Sky Swing. On winter weekends, 12 lanes of snow tubing beckon them, and at any time of year, the café provides respite with burgers and pizza, hot and cold drinks, and soft-serve ice cream.
