Sichuan Hot Pot Cuisine
Amid the mishmash of Chinese and English characters on nearly every storefront in Chinatown, it's nice that Sichuan Hot Pot Cuisine gets right to the point by posting pictures of its specialities. You know right away that if you have a hankering for poached sliced fish in the Sichuan style, this is the place to go. Poaching meat and seafood is one of the preferred preparations here, as is the traditional hot pot—diners dip proteins to cook in simmering broths right at the table. The menu also contains westernized classics, like kung pao chicken and general tso's chicken, as well as more authentic creations. Dumplings in hot oil, pan-fried kidney, bamboo fungus and cloud-ear fungus in soup, and manpo tofu can all be enjoyed in the bright, minimalist dining area.
