Launching from Memorial Beach Dam between 10:00-10:30 a.m., canoeists have until 5 p.m. to explore the Russian River. Most do so at a leisurely pace so they can get in as much picnicking and relaxing on beaches, splashing in swimming holes, and wildlife watching as possible in the 9 miles between the dam and Wohler Bridge, where they are picked up and shuttled back to the office.

About Russian River Adventures
Larry Laba knows his way around a canoe. Since 1993, he's designed and produced SOAR canoes, inflatable vessels designed to stand up to the rigors of uncharted waters around the world. It's understandable, then, that his first instinct on encountering the Russian River was to start paddling. For the past 15 years, Laba and the staff of Russian River Adventures have put their canoeing skills to good use, helping landlubbers and experienced canoeists alike to navigate the tranquil, not-actually-Russian waters of California wine country.
