Spencer Doll and Toy Museum

When Amy Dawn Morris passed away at the age of 21, her family had no idea what to do with the 300-doll collection she'd lovingly amassed. She was the inspiration for the Spencer Doll and Toy Museum, which celebrates her passion for vintage toys. In addition to dolls, the museum displays a rich collection of various vintage toys, model tractors, miniatures, Lionel Trains, and more.

Size: 3,000 square feet

Signature Exhibits: A vast collection of Shirley Temple dolls and Schoenhut circus figures

Eye Catcher: The model village that features a waterfall, snow, and a functional Lionel train set

Don't Miss: The enormous Mary March dollhouse, which stands at 7' long by 3' tall, which the Citizen Times called "exquisite"

Hands-On: The play area allows kids to dress up dolls and take Thomas the Train out for a spin

From the Press:

  • On the 1900-era Schoenhut Humpty-Dumpty mini circus: "For those seeking rare collectibles, this is the museum’s biggest don’t-miss exhibit." — Our State
  • "From Shirley Temple dolls to trains and die-cast racecars, the Spencer Doll and Toy Museum has something for every age and gender." — Catawba Pioneer

"2 stars BUT for this reason!!"
The lady was super nice!!! BUT this place isn't really a museum more like somebody's collection of dolls and toys that just got out of hand. They did have some toys to play with but it really wasn't worth my 45min drive just to play with some toys that we have at all. I took a 5 year old t... Read More

"Birthday Tea Party for 8 year old"
My daughter and friends enjoyed their tea time. The museum is filled with interesting dolls. I like the shirley temple collection best. For tourists, this is a quick 30 minutes stop. You can follow-up with the Transportation Museum across the street (walking distance).
