Though works from Kansas City artists fill its dining room, The Jacobson's pièce de résistance is its outdoor patio. Named one of the best patios around town by The Kansas City Star, the space once served as a loading dock for the 4,000-square-foot warehouse the restaurant now occupies. Vines of ivy crawl over recycled pallets and frame gorgeous views of Kansas City's skyline. Under a covered bar, the patio's bartenders whip up handcrafted cocktails that put modern spins on time-tested libations.
The aforementioned cocktails complement the cuisine of The Jacobson, using local, seasonal ingredients to craft upscale eats inspired by the Midwest. Made for sharing, the "Mingle" plates range from meatballs stuffed with goat cheese to sesame-crusted oyster mushrooms paired with sriracha aioli for dipping. A standout is the signature Jacobson burger, whose medley of onion straws, short-rib marmalade, and bone marrow butter earned a "Best Fancy Burger" honor from The Pitch.
