My favorite place to golf.

Beautiful course. Excellent condition. Courteous Pro Shop personnel. Several holes require the ability to hit the ball long in order to clear the wetlands which was somewhat challenging for the average golfer. The clubhouse is spectacular and an excellent venue for social events.

I am a part of a group of 8 guys that play the Refuge about 4 times a year - even tho' many of us live on the south side of the Metro area. We play here because we can score reasonable rates, enjoy the staff that treats us like they appreciate our coming there, AND, the really nice golf course that they obviously take great pride in keeping it lush and challenging. GREAT place to play the great game of golf. We'll continue to make the trek and hope that they continue to welcome us from the south.

This place is awesome! Great layout with water and/or marsh hazard comes into play somewhere on every hole. I will say that it is a challenging course and tests how straight you’re hitting it and if you are playing with one of those friends that is a glass empty kind of person they might complain a lot!!? The staff was super nice, it’s a beautiful clubhouse and I it was in such nice shape for september I can only imagine how nice it is in June. There is no doubt we are coming back except we’ll bring a bigger group next time. ps- This place would be a gem to live at if you work on the 694 side of the cities as the houses were gorgeous.

We have always enjoyed playing this course - but you need to bring some extra golf balls because it is challenging. But is always in good shape and well worth the price

About The Refuge Golf Club

Designed by course architect Kevin Norby, The Refuge Golf Club cleaves through 350 acres of woods and wetlands to frame an 18-hole, par 72 course. Native grasses, wooden cart bridges, and immaculate bluegrass fairways characterize this northern-style course, which challenges golfers with tight tree lines and abundant sunbathing opportunities for losing shirts in sand traps. If golfers haven't spotted much wildlife throughout the course, they might find a gallery of hawks, deer, and feral caddies watching at the 17th, the course's second-most-difficult hole. Clubbers must blast tee shots over a forced carry before safely landing on an open fairway that leads to a green flanked by bunkers on both sides.

Players can warm up for rounds at the 20-stall driving range and contoured putting green, and professionals help golfers hone their game during private lessons. Meanwhile, a 13,000-square-foot clubhouse built of rock and cedar beckons for post-round revelry in the facility's restaurant, bar, and pro shop.

Course at a Glance:
