The Unknown Brewing Co

Despite it's name, there's no real mystery about The Unknown Brewing Co, but there is a very distinctive ethos. This craft brewery subscribes to a culture of adventure and uncertainty, and it invites others aboard via its boundary-pushing beers and exciting, one-of-a-kind events. The lifestyle they promote gels with what they dub "bucket list beers," though they admit on their website, "Our beer is one thing we take serious, everything else in life we don’t." Read on to learn more about some of the seriously crafted beers created by these seriously unserious folks:

  • Over the Edge American IPA: "We've never been to India, and neither has this beer," the brewers confess when describing this American-style IPA, which they distinguish from its Eastern counterpart with five grains, West Coast hops, and a citrusy flavor (6.9% ABV).

  • Pre Game: This session ale boasts a gold color, low level of bitterness, and lightness that makes it an ideal starting beer for what could be a long night (4.5% ABV).

  • Dirty Commie Heathen: From the Now or Never Series, this Russian imperial stout is made with 4,000 pounds of grain and bourbon-soaked cherries (12.4% ABV).

Customer Reviews

This place was awesome!! My boyfriend and I went for a tour last night and neither of us had been there before. The atmosphere was great, live music, and beer selection was excellent. All of the staff was fun and friendly! Definitely a neat place, we will be returning!!
