I took my nieces and little cousin to this wonderful nature reserve. We enjoyed our visit to the arboretum. We began by eating lunch that we brought in at the picnic area right near the entrance and then we began our search for the wonderful tree houses and other interesting things to be seen on the land. We had a wonderful experience in the butterfly house with great teachers. And the front door staff was very pleasant and helpful. We went when the goats were on the property but we had no luck in seeing them until we were driving home. They were fenced but gathered near the road. We will continue to visit. Especially in the fall so we can conquer the maze.

Bring plenty of water and wear sneakers because it is a lot of walking! It is a beautiful place that the kids have a blast at while you can enjoy the scenery!

About Tyler Arboretum

Visitors could explore Tyler Arboretum for hours and still not see everything it has to offer. For one thing, it's huge—the arboretum covers 650 acres of woodlands and gardens crisscrossed with 17 miles of hiking trails. For another, it's constantly hosting educational programs and special events. Through October 15th, 2017, guests can see Tyler's visiting goats, part of a sustainable meadow-management initiative. There is fabulous natural beauty at Tyler every day of the year, season after season. The exhibits here—not to mention the flora and fauna—change by the month, week, and day. While Tyler Arboretum is open year-round, some of the most alluring times to visit are in the summer—when the vibrant seasonal flowers are in full bloom—and in fall, when the autumn foliage transforms into fiery red, orange, and yellow hues. Spring bursts with magnolias, lilacs, rhododendrons, and fragrance.

Some of the arboretum's most colorful exhibits include a small pond, a 1,400-square-foot butterfly house, and seven interactive tree houses (open March 15 – November 30) scattered across the property. Tyler Arboretum is open year-round, and beautiful with its blazing fall color, beautiful trails for winter, and spring blooms that start as early as February.
