Mild. Medium. Hot. Three words used to describe an item's relative heat, and three words woefully inadequate for describing the wings at Wingit. Wingit started as a food truck for a class project while founder Daryl was in college; five years later, the company boasts a successful brick and mortar location and an ever-increasing number of flavors. Instead of adhering to the common three-point scale, Wingit's wings come in a whopping 12 different intensities. These range from the sauce-less Free Bird, to tangy Spicy Lemon Pepper, to the mouth-tingling Louisiana Jerk. At the top: Hot Damn, a chili-drenched sauce that turns a simple chicken wing into a formidable taste opponent. Wingit now also offers meatless wings for veggie aficionados. After taking down one of these meaty foes, guests can also soothe their tongues with a sip of pineapple lemonade or a bite of sides including fried pickles and sweet potato fries.
