Yolo County Children's Alliance began as Yolo County's child-abuse prevention council in 2002. It's a big job for a mere ten administrators and social workers to tackle, but luckily they have the support of county residents. That support allows them to put on events such as the annual family fun run—a jaunt through UCD's stunning arboretum that helps the organization raise critical funds to connect families with support services. They also host fundraisers, child abuse awareness events, and family strengthening outreach programs, which build up families by having each member pick up and hug the next smallest person for 15 reps.
