Amazing The spa treatment a facial and back massage was absolutely amazing, so calming and really helped me with my stress. Had the lovely Annika who was so so sweet and bubbly, and recommended the products that could help me out with my skin, thank you for an amazing experience x

Good Value for Money We enjoyed our short stay at the hotel. Though certainly an old building, it felt to be steeped in history and had many features that made it look grand and stately. The room was comfortable - furniture in keeping with the age of the building - was good enough to sleep in. Decent food and breakfasts Big shout out for Liam at the Bar - super helpful and friendly to all the people he served! - He typified the cheerfulness of the staff we encountered and I would recommend a stay there. Value for money

Spa The spa was appalling. The pool looked like it was from the 70s. There was no bed to even sit on as people were leaving towels on them. We paid £10 each and didn’t even get in the pool. Spent 5 minutes in the steam room. Decided to go to the bar to get a drink with the extra we paid to get drinks and the bar was closed and they told us to go to the hotel to get a drink. We didn’t bother we just got changed and left. It totally spoilt the experience. So we lost out on £35. We didn’t even bother going in the spa the next morning after treatments we booked one 25 minutes away and spent a few hours in there. Definitely wouldn’t go again. The hotel was lovely. The room could have been a bit more modern in regards to the size and position of the tele but we had a comfortable night sleep

A trip to visit family On our arrival the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, which they all were throughout our stay. Our room was an disabled accessible one and very comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent, we only had one evening meal in the hotel but it was superb my wife had a sirloin steak which she said was veryvery good and I had a pea rissotto we was excellent. for dessert we had creme brulee which also excellent. The only complaint we had was it was difficult to navigate through some of the doors with a wheelchair.

Nice hotel. Lovely hotel with loads of character. Room was spacious and clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine, but nothing special - not much better than a Premier Inn, and the corridors really could do with a lick of paint - they look like they were last decorated in the ‘80s. And why charge for using the pool - I’ve stayed in numerous hotels with pools over the years and this is the first one which levied a charge? Fortunately we were staying for a few days and could make good use of it (it costs the same however many times you go). And yes, if mobility is an issue, make sure you get a room near reception - ours was a significant distance away down seemingly endless corridors.
