Discrimination with Security ABSOLUTELY DISRESPECTFUL SECURITY GUARD. I went in to see if I can book a room for 1-2 nights from WISCONSIN and after parking far and walking there the security guard I’m the front with a blue shirt that sits to the left when entering KICKED MY PARTNER AND I OUT. We didn’t even get to reach the lobby to ask front desk anything. He said to GET THE FUC* OUT IM FRONT OF MULTIPLE PEOPLE and workers after I told him I can be there. I also told him what if I was going to get a DRINK and he said NO and to get out in such a crazy disrespectful way. All we did was ask one of the workers if there was a convention going on so we know if it’s full or not. That man was the rudest person I met out here and to kick us out for not reason just for trying to walk to front desk is crazy. Now I have to find where else to stay. I wanted to stay there because of the location.

Start of Our Route 66 Advenure The is such an iconic hotel steeped in history. The architecture is stunning and reflective of the opulence of 125 years ago. We had a beautiful room overlooking Lake Michigan. The staff were very informative about the history surrounding the hotel and were only too happy to recommend places to visit. The breakfasts in the Gazebo restaurant were plentiful, tasty and had a great range of options.

Girls trip Room had no a/c, bathroom had no space for anything, no black out curtains so bright at 6 am that you didn't end a light . Didn't want to be up so early while on vacation. Beds were terrible, hot water in sink took forever and then is was backed up. We have stayed here before, but , I think it's time to try something else. The restaurants were good, location is good. But not enough to come back.

I love this hotel! I love this hotel! It was one of the best places I've ever stayed and I have traveled widely in the US and Europe. The historic nature alone is worth seeing, with its beautiful lobby, ornate elevator doors, and Gold Room, where we saw an opera performed by Roosevelt U students. Our room on the 12th floor was large, spotless, and light, directly across from Grant Park, with views of the lake, fountain, Navy Pier, Field Museum, Planetarium, and more. The location was perfect for walking to the Art Institute and Orchestra Hall, and just a 20-minute walk, or quick bus ride on #3, to the river. (One note: If you want large, modern bathrooms, this is not for you.)
