Traveler Beware I’ve stayed at many hotels over the years and the management in this Hampton is terrible. Upon getting home from my trip I checked my cc bill and saw they charged an extra $250. I called the hotel only to find out it was a smoking fee. Well, I Don’t Smoke! I spoke to assistant manager Chloe. She claims there were ashes all over the room and they had pictures. I argued my case to the assistant and general manager Andrew and they still refused to remove the charge. They also said they would send the pictures and they never have. At this point it’s a matter of principle. I have since contacted my credit card to have the charge removed..I was told if they (Hampton inn) get a chargeback I will be on Hilton’s fraud list! So just make sure you take a video or pictures before checking out off this hotel.

Newer, clean, well-equipped hotel Excellent choice for our family! Newer building. Clean, well-equipped double-bed room (TV, microwave , mini-fridge, desk lamps, coat closet). Quiet area - highway noise is blocked by a steep hill. Small pool for family (was closed). Large fitness room. Coin Laundry room. Large breakfast/TV lounge. Good breakfast (not fancy) with too many items to list. Everything worked as it should!

Best Hampton Inn One of the best, if not the best Hampton Inn I have stayed in. Everything was extremely clean, the rooms and public areas. Staff was very friendly. I did not eat the free breakfast that is offered but area was clean. Short but pleasant stay. Will definitely be my go to hotel when traveling to see family (it’s the halfway point).

Terrible customer service I am a special education teacher in Martinsville, VA and was signed up for a conference on autism June 3 and June 4. We were informed we were staying at the Hampton Inn Christiansburg/Blacksburg on Arbor Drive so I booked that hotel for 2 nights. However for some reason we received an email on the 30th stating the conference was going to be at another hotel in Blacksburg. I hated to have to cancel my reservation because it was past the deadline. I tried to reason with staff and called corporate. I was told by corporate that each individual hotel has the option to not charge a guest for cancelling. But alas, the general manager, Logan Kessinger, was having none of that. She was rude and condescending, insinuated that I was making the whole thing up, showed zero compassion nor respect for a frequent Hilton guest. She definitely is not the face of the Hilton Honors program. The money I lost, while frustrating, is not that big of a deal but the way I was talked to and treated is unacceptable.

Central location and friendly staff This Hampton is in a great location, well-situated between I-81 and Virginia Tech. The property appears to be a popular choice in the area, based on the volume of travelers coming and going - we personally observed a mixture of people on business, families, and even a college tennis team. I appreciated some of the personal touches at the property, like cute spring decorations at the front door and throughout the lobby. Hilton loyalty was well-acknowledged - we were offered cookies and bottles of water at check-in, as well as a choice of snacks for status. Small things like this helped distinguish this location from your typical roadside Hampton, and showed that the employees seem to take a lot of pride in the property. The room appeared to be recently renovated and had everything we needed for an overnight stop. Some quirks in the room, like a bathroom door that wouldn’t lock into place and dead outlets in the dresser, were minor reminders that the property wasn’t quite new. The breakfast variety was a little odd in terms of flavors but sufficient nonetheless. We would keep the property in mind for future trips to the area.
